This is a sad story which I read recently… It is such a fun way to cross Victoria Harbour between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Last time when I was in Hong Kong we stayed at the hotel on the Island and used it daily to get across. But the ridership is down so much that company is bleeding money each and every day.
Launched in 1880, the ferry has witnessed both Hong Kong’s transformation into a global financial hub and its history of protests. But battered by a pandemic, the service is struggling to survive.
