Local ramen shops tucked away in a small random street often are the best. This is where the locals eat day in and day out. People often know each other as they frequent the same place on the way home from work, where they stop for a quick dinner.

I had one of those shops “on the way home” when we live in Juso area of Osaka. Almost daily I stopped to eat there. Good food was served quickly and with a smile. Nothing fancy here, just in and out with a belly full of good food. What else can you ask for?
