In Nara, Japan

I

Took this photograph in Nara, the ancient capital of Japan. During my visit to the Buddhist temples, I collected goshuin. They are sacred stamps and calligraphy from temples across the country collected in a book. You hand it over to an attendant and in return for a modest fee, will be stamped with the shrine or temple’s name along with the day’s date and/or name of the shrine or temple you’re visiting, written in calligraphy.
