This is a slightly different type of vending machine I found on the Kyoto Subway platform. The ever-popular see-through/clear umbrellas are very popular in Japan; they allow you to see where you are walking easily. Solid colour umbrellas are not very practical here, as you could potentially walk into someone on the busy, often crowded streets in Japan.
