Protecting Sexual Minorities Against Discrimination in South Korea

Despite growing social acceptance of sexual minorities, the bill has been blocked in the National Assembly due to a powerful Christian conservative lobby.

The bill has support from the general public, with 57% of South Korean adults in favor, but protesters have held up homophobic signs and churches have campaigned against it.

While other Asian countries have passed similar laws, South Korea has yet to pass one, and it remains unclear if it ever will.
