Six Potential Galaxies

S

The James Webb Telescope has recently revealed six potential galaxies that formed just 500-700 million years after the Big Bang, which is much earlier than expected according to current cosmological theory. These galaxies have as many stars as the Milky Way, despite being much more compact in size.

If confirmed, these galaxies challenge current astrophysical knowledge and could mean they were forming hundreds of stars a year shortly after the Big Bang. The team needs more data to verify their findings, but expect to have official confirmation sometime next year.
