People who are COVID-19 vaccinated

P

A research letter published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that getting vaccinated against COVID-19 was associated with a lower risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular issues among people who had been infected with SARS-CoV-2.

The study was conducted using the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) database, which included 1,934,294 patients, 217,843 of whom had received the vaccine. The study found that those who were fully vaccinated were 59% as likely to experience MACE (major adverse cardiac events) as those who were not vaccinated, and even partial vaccination was associated with a lower risk. Further research is needed to understand the immunological mechanisms and the role of SARS-CoV-2 subtypes and reinfections.
